Post Draft Line-up

Post by Ricky Dartschool on Thu Feb 27, 2014 2:20 pm

So after another rollercoaster of a draft, here's the closest thing to a starting 13 for the Zooms:

1. Tomkins
2. Gordon
3. Jennings
4. Gillett*
5. Fonua
6. Hayne
7. Morgan
8. Woods
9. Luke
10. Graham
11. Peats
12. Reithmullet
13. Heighington

Pretty happy I guess. Peats and Mullets minutes will be critical. Confident of Peats getting 60+, not of Reithmuller. Ignored my rules of earlier years by picking injury prone and origin players. Speaking of, Gilliett ends up in the back row of course.
Sad about: Feldt, Roberts and Hopo. 1 round out on each and all should have good-uns.
Heigh-o gets the nod simply for scoring the winning points in the GF last year. Helps that Lewis and Tuopu are broken too.

1. Inglis
2. Hurrell
3. Beale
4. Thompson*
5. Wighton*
6. Walker*
7. DCE
8. Mannah
9. J Friend
10. Tolman
11. E Taylor
12. Watmough
13. Hinchcliffe

Stoked with my first 6-7 drafts, but realised cash was going to be tight, so tried to find some potential big players with my last 3 picks.  I've got 4 probable origin players, which is one or two more than I would like, but they should be plenty of points when they are around, so took the option.

Beale could be dangerous, but doesn't have the greatest scoring rate from his time with the Broncs, so really depends if the Dragon's halves get going or not this season.  Could be inline for an early flick...

Wighton is getting talked up big time at Canberra this year, as a 5/8.  If he gets time there, and plays well, he should easily score a few more 4 pointers, and potentially PPs.  If fit, he's going to be playing somewhere for the Raiders, so not a complete punt.

Thompson's move to the Dragons, who don't have any really dangerous forwards, means he should be getting plenty of game time, and hopefully plenty of carries too.  I've had Thompson in my squad for the last 4 years I think, but with potentially 80 minutes to come from him this year, I think his numbers are going to go through the roof.  Will move into the forward pack.

Walker is also looking at spending some time at 5/8, which hopefully means he plays there for 3-4 weeks, gets the position addition on NNRL, and then goes back to centre.  Then I have a gun tryscorer playing at 5/8.

Everyone else pretty self explanatory.

I'm posting this on the night of my wedding - sad.

1. tuivasa-sheck
2. Oates
3. Feldt
4. Idris
5. Vatuvei
6. Kelly
7.Cronk
8. Gallen
9. Farah
10. Merrin
11.Cordner
12. Peachey
13. Houston

Gotta say, I have not looked at any of the prices, had too many other things demanding my attention. Yup, I'll be poked this season outside of a top 13 - just as well I know the nrl and rugby league in general better than all you fuckers.

So not paying attention to who I had and what I paid for my bite me in the bum (don't get excited James) but the team I've got isn't bad. In my backline Feldt. Oates, Manu, RTS, Kelly all chances to be top try scorers at their respective clubs. Cronk is Cronk. Good front row, mediocre backrow.

Idris & Peachey are punts - but virtually everyone at the panthers is.

8 of the team are back to back Jaffas. Only 2 of the 13 have never played for the Jaffas before. Consistency - laziness...you decide.

Milford, Merritt, Peats were all nearly Jaffas.

Fair looking squads. Have texted Isaac John to tell him he was a draft picked. He's stunned as he's not even a draft pick at the panthers.

Hopefully somebody awesome
Snowden
Harrison

Hopefully somebody else equally awesome

Coach Robinson

Fairly average tbh, but some of those old timers might rise from the ashes to have a big season. I think the zooms have the best squad to be posted so far

14. Feki

Coach Paul green

Feeling a lot better than I was post draft. The old forwards in my team are tacklers as supposed to runners so should be able to hang on a while longer. Fulton I'm looking at you.

Have try scoring options for the warriors, sharks. Cowboys, dragons, eels. Sea eagles.

Could be worse. Have no cash left but if one of my players from the draft breaks you add 400k to the bottom line

Could be worse.

So you have try scoring options from the 7th worst, 6th worst, 4th worst, 3rd worst, and worst attacking teams of 2013. And Steve Matai.

Possibly? I'm not a numbers guy. But I do know that you have Hoffman, rochow and T. Rex as a backrow which based on 2013s data contributed a total of 17 4 pointers last season. Here's hoping 2013 doesn't count for much.

1. Tomkins
2. Gordon
3. Linnett
4. Jennings
5. Fonua
6. Hayne
7. Townsend
8. Graham
9. Luke
10. Woods
11. Gillett
12. Heighington
13. Peats

14. Sio
15. Simona
16. Widdop
17. Morgan

18. De Belin

Same as Drags really. Pretty happy with the backs but not the usual ZM forward pack due to a slightly weaker back row. Still pretty good up front though.

1. B Stewart
2. A Uate
3. WChambers
4. Edrick Lee
5. S Waqa
6. J Maloney (c)
7. T Roberts
8. S Burgess
9. N Friend
10. B Hannant
11. R Rochow
12. R Hoffman
13. T Rex
14. J Tedesco
15. C Lawrence
16. B Gibbs
17. J Buhrer

Aforementioned potentially flaky backrow, but enough in there to be relatively satisfied. Problematic lack of multi-positional players limits my squad's versatility.

Merkins have the strongest squad for mine.

7. M. Mbye
8. G. Burgess

14. B. Ayshford

Some electric backs, powerhouse forwards, good defenders and a few young players who will hopefully stamp their authority on SHB XI.

Bring it.
