Round 2: GF three-peat replay

Post by Actionman on Thu Mar 13, 2014 6:18 pm

The two pre-eminent teams of the last three seasons face off this weekend - and getting a win in the board is going to be more important than any trophy this week.

The match may very well be decided at Eden Park with the Dragons cheering on the Warriors and former Zoomorph hero Johnson and the Zooms cheering on St George led by Widdop. I'm backing Johnson to come to good and even a biz of razzle dazzle from Mateo to prove too much for the Zooms.

Watch out for the Chris Sandow led TOA to edge out the Jaffas in another spiteful encounter involving James - most are..

The Hipsters should have too much for the Karruptas

The Tractors and LFB to continue their winning ways against the SHams and M&Ms respectively.

Sandow didn't last a day http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/parramatta-eels-halfback-chris-sandow-relegated-to-reserves-again-20140223-33a2k.html

Creagh has been promoted from the bench after an admin error last week, Zillman is back in round 2 following media controversy and Maranta a new addition to the squad. Watch out for more to come over the next couple of days as TOA load up on the roids.

Good to see you're using up to date info there Jimbo...

Tractors happy to welcome the freak Nofo into the fold in Remmers, giving him an automatic starting spot even though he is on an extended bench with the Tigers.

We must admit though, all those changes Sandringham were talking about had us worried.  Untill we checked their recruitment for the week...

Timmah, you're still an embarrassment to this league, and even yourself.  Thanks for the 2 points in advance.

i forgot Sun readers like yourself only consider articles stamp dated today as being relevant... after all you've already jigged off over the page 3 girl so the paper is now old news.

LFBs to get merked in boilover at the punchbowl. Stop laughing, it could happen

Zooms to bounce back against the winless drags

Remmers to stay top of the table

Hipsters too cool for the karruptas

Jaffas to win because i don't know what old alleynian means

The Jaffas vs what ever stupid name James comes up with games are usually dire affairs. I blame James.

The point being made about the date Jimbo is that all that info was out and well known before you even picked Sandow (who didn't play last week either) - so dropping him within a day suggests you didn't know shit before you did it, then found what in sporting terms is a dated reference to why he was purchased and dropped in a day as if it were breaking news.

It's like me going on the news and saying "the Warriors have missed the 2013 playoffs." It's not false, it's just old fucking news.

Man, your team suits you - David Simmons, Anthony Don, Mitch Brown, Ben Creagh...players I despise watching, and ones that soak up way too much oxygen. I look forward to putting these little bitches to the sword.

Ahhh dreas its on buddy! Good to see sbw refusing to play his old squad.

But seriously you are the Steenkamp to my Pistorius.

As for the rest of the matches, tirau to edge ben after a high scoring broncs cowboys game.

Tractors to pile on some points against the hams.

Hipsters over the karruptas and jaffs over james

The Karruptas welcome back the Wolfman to the fold and are expecting more work from Mitch Aubusson in the wake of the SBW suspension. Tim Grant looks set to make an early recovery from injury, so the forwards are looking even more brutal this week. Expect metres from G. Burgess, Tamou, Parker, Bird, and Grant. Ballin will tackle his heart out against his former club, with Parker and Birdy pitching in...

The Hispters forward pack, on the other-hand, is pretty underwhelming. Apart from Sam Burgess, there are no real standouts.

While the Hipsters may have the slickest, blackest back line since the Karruptas of '10, the KKs still possess speed to burn, and will be looking to impress CEO Adrock Stone and cement a spot in the 17 after being kept try-less against the OA in Round 1.

I get your point but all I'm saying is that there is no harm bidding for a guy with the chance he might start (he was never ruled out for a set period) and dropping him when it's announced he starts in reserve grade in round 2. I should hope to fuck you're ahead of me in picking these things up considering you're the man that presents the news.

Anyway, on to more interesting things. If my statistics are correct then I'm pretty sure Chunuk bair have the best record over the jaffs out of any team in the comp. I'm your nemises. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and let's make this a Log game. Winner takes all. Or are you too chicken shit?

You gotta earn that shit Dul boy. We're talking about how to make the shield relevant, last second applications with someone of your still to prove yourself standing isn't the easy to enhance it. Yeah, I'm chicken shit, really scared of you. I've always been intimidated by you James, you're positively terrifying.

Your statistics? You can't work out when Ivan cleary retired but you've kept stats on all the teams that play me? Everyone beats the Jaffas (except Jasper) at least once a year, but this ain't your time. You're no nemesis Jimmy. Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy beating you, but I don't count down to our confrontations, you are the St Peters to my Auckland Grammar.

Fair point Dreas - as a history lesson, this is from TOA website:

"The Old Alleynian Foot Ball Club is one of the oldest clubs in London. It was formed  in 1898 by and for former pupils of Dulwich College. We are now involved in league rugby and were in our heyday as high as London first division. We have also been finalists in the Surrey Cup three times and won it twice"

Basically a bunch of toffs that none of us (apart from Tim) would ever have a shit show chance in hell of affording to send our kids there

Well well well. Here we are again. After forever ridding the world of the deucebag we now set our sights on his lame, genital-less spawn the Actionman.

Actionman, you're like the sex-pest-paedo of the SHB. Just the mention of you makes people queasy and although all are suspicious of your intentions, you still find some poor wee sap to take advantage of.

Hoping for SJ to get swamped by Lusi, and here's to Lawrence breaking his face and a career best year for the Ziller.

I knew you were chicken shit. I am not sure how playing the Log in round 4 for no apparent reason is making it 'more relevant' but that's your choice, it's your log at the moment.

anyway, you better go back and polish your John Key award...oh that's right, you couldn't even win that.

I know right! What a bum. First round drafting - boourns. Still, his metres are way off and hopefully will get bumped up. He made two 10+ runs in the same set of six and they gave him like 7m. only 120 to go...

James, you are a fucking muppet.

Need me to explain how the ranfurly shield works too? It's not the WWE title mate, you can't just come out and demand a title shot. It's ok if you don't know how shit works, just don't act like you do.

And John Key award? I'm sorry, don't get your reference there. Then again, we rarely do.

Your finalist effort in the "The John Key award for mangling the English language"

I know how it works. I just wanted to make it interesting. That's fine, keep your little log tradition and we will see it fade into oblivion when no one cares in 8 rounds time.

Yeah, that was a bit of a fail, not selecting my team. Again. Nearly as much of a fail as James playing the 'im more working class than you' game.

there's a bit of wind and rain but its not bad at all so far. I think they've overstated it just to make sure someone doesn't go fishing and drown.
